LINKS FOR KIDS
  • Primary Worksheets: nice looking number worksheets (from missing numbers and ordering numbers to long multiplication, grids and decimals *gasp!*) are easy to print out and reinforce those basics.
  • Oh, My Stars--it's Mars!: this silly rhyming diddly, with NASA photos, is a fun learning tool.
  • Mini-Math Golf: an expressive little golf ball goes through lava flows, deep sea diving and para-gliding adventures as you add and subtract.
  • School Express is the place for homeschooling expatriates. Are your kids interested in horses? acid rain? Einstein? rain forests? There are six free units available to sample as well as free worksheets, a treasure hunt, math generator and other various online activities. I've just purchased a Thematic Unit Membership and now have access to 200+ pdf units to save on my computer and print out.
  • Sesame Street! Let's not forget about this stand-by. I used Bert's "W" song from his National Association of W Lovers Meeting in some of my ESL classes: Oh, what is the letter we love? The one that we're extra fond of? It's not any trouble, you know it's a "double-u" when you say wuh wuh wuh wuh!
  • The Yuckiest Site on the Internet: zits, burps, poop and other bodily functions explained - it's grossly educational
  • Enchanted Learning: dinos, explorers, games, crafts
  • Amazing Insects: extraordinary photos and very informative (did you know that a ladybug's top flying speed is 15 mph?)
  • Billy Bear 4 Kids
  • Clifford the Big Red Dog
  • Puzzles, Mazes, and General Knowledge Quizzes -- how much do you know?
  • Bob, Larry and the rest of the interactive Veggie Tales gang!
  • Pre-school to Grade 2: ABC, 123, shapes, time, money
  • Sweet Streets - my girls love this make-over: hairstyles, skin color, eye shape and more, plus the ice cream truck maze!
  • Brains Rule!
  • Help Owen Otter: an excellent game about trees
  • KinderStart Learning Activities and Crafts
  • Human Body Adventure--a wonderful site with simple explanations about the skeletal, circulatory, nervous, respiratory, digestive and immune systems
  • Bob the Builder Website: fix the pipes - build a house
  • Color Snoopy and friends on-line
  • simple paper dolls, a boy and a girl, to dress online
  • Magic School Bus: interactive games, simple science experiments, print and play activities with Ms Friz, Liz and the kids

  • Free educational and games programs from Grey Olltwit's Freeware. This homeschooling dad's got everything from a speaking clock to Canadian coin counting to my personal favorite - the Doodle Pad (it's loaded!)
  • Virtual field trips for all ages and interests: were you even aware that a blue whale's heart is as big as my car?!
  • Just the thing for a little excitment on a Saturday night - a photo safari in the Serengeti. Game?
  • I'm excited about this one! Pre and early readers will benefit hugely and enjoy this phonics-based "learn to read" site, with its movies, games and printable work sheets
  • Click on the hungry frog and then the right answer - be it French, Latin or Spanish vocabulary, pictures of people (from Napoleon to Hawking), math, time or animal matching
  • Bats: the only flying mammal (they can eat 3,000 mosquitoes in one night!)
  • Kids Psych - very interesting, challenging stuff for two specific age ranges: 1-5 and 6-9

Kids - tell your folks to give you a copy of your itinerary: destinations, flight times/numbers, full contact names, phone numbers and addresses. That way, if your parents get lost, you'll be able to find them."
